A homepage should feel like a room, not a brochure dump.
People remember atmosphere almost as much as they remember content.
People do not only remember what was on a page. They remember how the page carried itself.
That is why I keep thinking of homepages as rooms. You enter, you orient yourself, and you get a sense of the person or work behind it.
